FranchiseSpeak.com has been started because as a franchisee I needed a place to voice my opinions and thoughts anonymously without worry of franchisor reprecussions. I unselfishly wanted others to know the experience I had (am having) even though it means I probably wouldn’t be able to sell and get out of my franchise. I just don’t want others making the same mistakes.
I thought I had found a website to do that, but they were corrupted by the franchisor and stopped accepting comments on the subject after a lively discussion was started because it had some unflattering, (but truthful) comments about the franchise. Being a Constitutionalist, I guess I just have a strong tendency towards free speech and believe that it actually does more good than harm. Especially for the fact that the franchisor improved their operations after being forced to by this unabashed criticism.
At FranchiseSpeak comments will never be edited, only approved once we’re sure they are not spam and/or contain profanity. Franchisees are welcome to make anonymous posts without fear of being identified by anything accept the comments they leave. Claims to ownership, franchisee, or licensee may be manually verified in order to keep the integrity of FranchiseSpeak high, but under no circumstance will your information ever be released to anyone. To further demonstrate our integrity, we will never accept direct advertising dollars from any franchise or franchise broker. If a franchise advertisement ever appears on this site, it will be because of the Google algorithm for matching advertisements with websites through their adsense program.
